What’s your mantra for 2023?

I like to pick a mantra before every New Year.

It sets my intention and tone for the year to come.

As the winter months set in and I hibernate and go within, this time of introspection clarifies my mantra for the coming year.

My mantra for year 2021 was “Pivot”. We needed to do a lot of that after Covid-19. The world wasn’t anymore the world we knew. It has changed forever and in order to survive and thrive we all needed to pivot and recalibrate to this new reality.

I pivoted from a long time goal of finishing my schooling for Industrial psychology to doing the work that I love, becoming an EOS Implementer. Helping businesses Pivot to become their best selves. Helping leadership teams pivot from getting stuck in solving the same issues over and over again to learning how to make them go away forever and become a healthy cohesive team.

Year 2022 was all about “empowerment”.

Empowering myself to do what I do, believing in myself that I Get it, Want it and have the Capacity to do the work I love and juggle all parts of my life. Many days it felt like I’m fraying at the seams. At those trying moments, I had to check in with myself and confirm that the activity I was doing aligned with my personal mission and core values.

It was definitely helpful that my husband and I took a retreat before ringing in the new year to clarify our shared values and mission, my core focus. (you can use The Values Deck | A Card Sorting Game to Explore Your Personal Values) It was the saving grace when I had to make hard choices, sometimes choosing to put business before family and sometimes family before work.

Sometimes it was between having two equally great opportunities but one that aligns with my values and mission while the other one being a distraction.

2022 was the year of “empowering” others around me. My mission to empower female entrepreneurs. To help them get more of what they want from their business. To empower them with the right tools and support they can too can live the #EOS life of doing what they love, with people they love, be compensated appropriately and still have time for other passions.

Which brings me to year 2023.

Choosing 2023 to be the year of “letting go” is a natural progression. When trying to conquer the world and make a big difference, you have to let go of old limiting beliefs and ideas that no longer serve you and are holding you back. Letting go of fears and limitations. You have to let go of the image who you think you are and become who you truly are unapologetically.

You have to let go of the unnecessary details that wont make a difference to the greater picture. Letting go of perfectionism. Letting go of extremism. Letting go of things needing to be “my way”.

You have to let go of the things that you are not great at and delegate them to elevate yourself to do more of what you love and are great at. Your Unique abilities.

You let go of micro management, of making assumptions about yourself and others.

You let go of what “should be” and open yourself up to whatever “may be”.

When you let go, you let God in. The universe opens itself up and you find yourself on a journey and in places with opportunities that you never imagined otherwise.

What’s your mantra for 2023?

I’d love to hear!

Happy holidays!
