Hello From the 90 Day World

I am writing this as I am flying back from our Quarterly Collaborative Exchange at EOS Worldwide, also known as QCE.

As an Entrepreneurial Operating System Implementer, we walk the talk.

We teach our clients to live in a 90 day world and so do we. Research has shown that when you set a plan of action, there is excitement right after. Around 30 days in, the excitement starts to wane. 60 - 90 days later and your plan is almost completely forgotten.

This is where the idea of living in a 90 Day world stems from. We work to constantly set new goals, every 90 days and consistently stay focused. Get out of our daily grind, come up for air, take a look at the past 90 days, how we did, what we accomplished and then plan for the next 90 days.

we call these 90 day goals “Rocks” a term popularized by Verne Harnish who got the term from Stephen Covey.

This term refers to the concept that of having an imaginary jar that is your time capacity and you want to fill it with Rocks (your biggest priorities), pebbles (every day work) sand (distractions) and water (everything else).

If you start with the sand and water first, you’ll likely not have place for the pebbles and rocks.

But if you focus on your BIG Priorities FIRST, then the every day tasks, you’ll have place for the sand and water and some distractions and issues might even fall away.

I hope that this encourages you to set priorities for the next quarter and stay focused on them so you maximize your energy and reach your bigger goals faster!

As always, thank you for reading and please share this “Healthy and Smart” Journal with your friends and colleagues.

Rachel
